Brexit: one year to go

The end of March will mark one year until the UK leaves the EU. As the clock ticks down to Brexit day join leading academics and experts from the House of Commons Library to explore how public opinion on identity, immigration and trust in public information is shaping the debate.

Speakers include:

  • Sir John Curtice – One Year to Go – What do the Brits think about Brexit now?
  • Professor Anand Menon, UK in a Changing Europe – The latest projects from the UK In a Changing Europe
  • Dr Maria Sobolewska, University of Manchester – Brexitland: identity, diversity, and the reshaping of British politics
  • Professor Matthew Goodwin, University of Kent – How are Remainers and Leavers processing information?

Talks will be followed by a Q&A with the panel, chaired by Penny Young, House of Commons Librarian. Sylvia de Mars, EU law expert for the Commons Library and lecturer in law at Newcastle University will also join the panel.

The event opens at 9.15 for refreshments, and talks will start at 9.30.
