At this report launch, researchers from the University of the West of Scotland, working with the UK in a Changing Europe, will present their findings from research into how other non-EU coastal states govern their fisheries policies.
Fisheries was one of the most high-profile policy areas to receive attention during the EU referendum. Now the UK has voted to leave the EU, it will need to develop its own approach to replace the EU’s Common Fisheries Policy.
Using Iceland, Norway and the Faroe Islands as potential models for post-Brexit fisheries governance, the report highlights several policy lessons for the UK and makes a series of recommendations for policy-makers.
