Who is Emmanuel Macron?

Emmanuel Macron is the President of France. He was elected in May 2017, following a second-round run-off against Marine Le Pen in which he won 66% of the vote. Macron is strongly in favour of deeper EU integration and has played a leading role in several key initiatives, including the election of the current president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the EU’s Covid-19 recovery fund.
