How important is the EU market to UK trade?

Exports to the EU make up  44% of the UK’s total exports (goods and services)

In comparison, 17% go to the USA and 8% to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa combined.

Exports to the EU were worth about 13% of the value of the British economy in 2014, just as they were ten years previously. Meanwhile, exports to non-EU countries have increased from around 12% to 16%.
