What is the DUP?

The DUP is the main unionist party in Northern Ireland. It has reached a ‘confidence and supply’ Agreement with the Conservative Party after the June 2017 Westminster elections, is the largest party in the Northern Ireland Assembly, and gained the most seats from Northern Ireland in the Westminster elections.  It is typically seen as staunchly unionist and also very socially conservative.
