Who is Boris Johnson?
Boris Johnson has been the Prime Minister of the UK and leader of the Conservative Party since July 2019. He has been Conservative MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. He was mayor of London from May 2008 to May 2016. He was on the board of Vote Leave and was a leading figure in the Leave campaign. At the 2019 general election, he achieved a Conservative majority of 80, with notable successes in Leave-supporting Labour seats known as the Red Wall. This enabled him to ratify the revised Withdrawal Agreement he concluded with the EU in October 2019 and paved the way for the UK to leave the EU on 31 January 2020.
