The mechanics of a further referendum on Brexit

This report, by Jess Sargeant, Alan Renwick and Meg Russell of the UCL Constitution Unit, examines when and how a further Brexit referendum could take place. It finds that such a referendum is practically possible, but that decision-making must take account of the need for the outcome of any such vote to have maximum legitimacy, particularly at a time of fractious and divided politics. It looks particularly at issues such as the referendum question, the franchise, and how long the poll would take to conduct.
