Who is David Davis?

David Davis was the first Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union under Theresa May, from July 2016 to July 2018. He resigned from government following the agreement of the Chequers proposals on the UK’s future relationship with the EU. He has been MP for Haltemprice and Howden since 1997. During the EU referendum, he campaigned to leave the European Union.
