Labour Party conference: unequal Britain

The pandemic has deeply affected us all – but not equally. The crisis has ruthlessly exposed how our vulnerability to shocks varies hugely, and the utterly different perspectives on inequality among different sections of the British public.

The Policy Institute and UK in a Changing Europe explored how central these attitudes to inequality are to post-Covid, post-Brexit Britain, what “levelling up” means to people and how it’s shaping our politics.

Speakers:

  • Paula Surridge, Deputy Director, UK in a Changing Europe
  • Anneliese Dodds MP, Former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer
  • Bobby Duffy, Director of The Policy Institute at King’s College London
  • Sonia Sodha, British columnist and author for the Guardian and Observer (Chair)
