Brexit and Comedy

On 31 January 2020, the UK ceased to be a member of the EU, and to reflect on this, we hosted a panel event looking at what Brexit has meant for comedians and satirists in the UK. Is politics funnier now than it has ever been?

Speakers:

  • Nish Kumar, stand-up comedian and host of the BBC’s The Mash Report
  • Andy Zaltzman, comedian, author and co-creator of The Bugle podcast
  • Marina Hyde, Guardian columnist
  • Chair: Professor Anand Menon, director of The UK in a Changing Europe
